Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, I always strive to make sure my students marry the intellectual, emotional, aural, and visual sides of music. Music must exist in all of these realms in order to help the singer reach their full potential and convey a message to the audience. It is crucial to meet each student where he or she is, without compromising high expectations. I believe a quality music education is not a privilege but is instead a basic human right. Each student has a personal identity and uniqueness that I strive to cultivate and celebrate. As a teacher, I make it my fundamental duty to always foster a love for music. Whenever there is a lapse in enjoyment of performing, I bring the student back to the moment in which he or she decided to make music an integral part of his or her life. Students desire and deserve a teacher who not only successfully teaches his or her chosen discipline, but also teaches students how to navigate human emotions such as empathy, courage, frustration, and curiosity. As a teacher, I do not only teach music, I teach people.
Interested in Private Lessons?
I provide in-person lessons and online lessons via Zoom. Whether you are a novice singer who wants to start lessons for fun, an experienced student who wants to revisit voice lessons, or a professional student who wants to continue vocal study, there is a place for you in my studio. I have taught private voice lessons since 2015 to students of varying backgrounds, ages, and experience levels at community music schools, secondary schools, and universities.
